The publication of the Government’s White Paper Trust, Assurance and Safety – The Regulation of Health Professionals in the 21st Century, indicates that statutory regulation for the emerging professions (Anaesthesia Practitioners [APs] are one such profession) may be developed once the roles are agreed as fit for purpose.
